In this Safety Leadership Program we’re going to explore not only what it means to be an effective Safety Leader, but most importantly how to develop the required knowledge, skills and attitude to lead within a safety critical environment.

Here is what is included in this 6 Week Course:

Starting Monday 18th September for 6 weeks

• Week 1: We're going to look in greater depth at developing self-awareness and this will include owning safety as a personal value, looking at what the regulatory responsibilities for safety leaders are, asking what the characteristics of effective safety leaders are, identifying your leadership style, and acting with Integrity.

• Week 2: We're going to look in greater depth at how we build relationships and influence behaviour, and this will include how to build relationships between the interfaces of different departments, identifying ways to consult and engage teams and influence behaviour.

• Week 3: We're looking in greater depth at how we can lead by example through the promotion of a positive safety culture, identifying and managing safety risks, leading through strong safety performance monitoring and review, and through effective resourcing and work planning. We will go into far more detail than we have in this workshop as we’ll have more time. 

•  Week 4: It's all about safety communication, you're going to learn how to have an effective safety conversation, how to develop active listening skills and use techniques to provide effective feedback. This is a really strong module that can bring some great results with your teams.

• Week 5: It's all about setting vision and direction. Some of the topics we're going to cover in this module include setting safety objectives with your teams, creating a professional learning log, looking at how we plan to communicate aspirations with our teams, and finally identifying methods to overcome barriers to implementation - which is really important if we want to see change and see change sustained

• Week 6: Review of Professional Learning Log / Safety Actions

This course comes with a Workbook and Practical Case Studies that will encourage you to think about what your approach to the example situations might be. It's going to be very interactive and video-based throughout.
